Cusco, Peru
the transport strike of several weeks ago in lima seems to have taken 2
weeks to work its way down here. while the folks around here don't
seem to be able to rally a line of trucks and busses 5 miles long to slow
things down, they did manage to put some rocks in the road and get a
local newspaper photographer out just in the nick of time to get a
picture off before a bunch of angry drivers went and cleared them away.
this
road from cusco to puno (near lake titicaka and the border with bolivia)
is the one that i will be taking monday or tuesday on my way south.
kind of a shame the rocks are already gone... jesse would have made short
work of them.
