Nosara,
Costa Rica
~5500 miles
went out on tony and kevin's fishing boat today with art and bridgette
and matt from la luna. caught 10 ~30lb yellowfin tuna. we had fresh
sashimi and nigiri sushi later... and 1" thick seared ahi tuna steaks for
dinner... the only thing we were missing was tuna ice cream for dessert.
love tuna.
we fished around a pod of some 200-300 dolphins. it was like the flip-a-lympics
or something.. they were jumping out of the water continuously doing
flips, somersaults, backflips, sideflips and just about every other thing
you can imagine a dolphin do. kevin, the captain, confirmed that in the
six years he's been out here fishing he's never seen anything like it
either. there were a lot of babies in the pod, so perhaps it was some
sort of junior dolphin training day or something. they were also hanging
out with a group of yellowfin tuna, which apparently are better at
sniffing out good bait fish as well.
